COACHING SUPPER CLUBS FOR WOMEN

In the UK Women account for 47% of the workforce but a mere 22% of senior leader-ship positions, why?

Even today, in the second decade of the 21st century, women find it difficult to get their voices heard. The workplace rewards those that speak up in meetings, that present well, and all those other profile raising behaviours that impress a management team but where women often feel less confident.

Although many companies provide training in day-to-day work responsibilities, they neglect the fundamental need to increase confidence. Coaching can address this. However, investing in 1-2-1 Coaching is prohibitively expensive for many, so we have started The Spark Connection Supper Clubs for Women.

THE FORMAT

Each evening opens with a drinks reception, an opportunity to catch up with friends and network. Then the guests will be invited to take their allocated places at a table with 3 other women and their coach.

After contracting for confidentiality, and over dinner with wine, each person will be invited to talk about a business issue. It could be dealing with a difficult boss, speaking up in meetings, managing a tricky team member, working towards a promotion, anything that needs addressing.

The coach will facilitate, firstly to coach each individual, and secondly to ensure that everyone has a turn. She will help the coachee question assumptions, and uncover the beliefs and attitudes that prevent progress.

The other diners will be invited to share their own experiences and encourage discussion. We don’t claim to be able to turn someone’s working life around in just half an hour, instead the aim is to kick start the thought process, and question assumptions.

THE COACHES

All coaches are accredited which means they have taken an official coaching course, been assessed, and are now professional coaches and members of a recognised coaching association.
